About Sutram

Healthcare that happens in front of you.

We bring clinical-grade blood screening to the last Indian mile. The test runs where you are, while you watch, and the report is in your hand before you leave.

Who we are

A thread between people and their health.

Sutram is a health screening initiative built for the places a lab never reaches: the village past the last bus stop, the night shift on the factory floor, the government school two hours from the nearest city.

We set up a full camp on the spot. One finger prick, a portable analyser, a printed report in minutes, and a doctor on hand. Then we come back, so every test becomes part of a history instead of a one-time number.

The name is the idea. A thread is continuous, it connects, and it doesn't break. That's what we want healthcare to feel like for every Indian, wherever they live.

Why we exist

Most people never see their own blood being tested.

In the usual camp, a sample goes into a vial, the vial goes into a box, and the box goes to a lab somewhere else. Days later a report arrives, if it arrives. And a quiet question sits with every family: is this really mine?

The usual way

  1. A vial leaves the roomYour blood is drawn from a vein and shipped away in a cold box.
  2. You wait for daysReports come back late, or get lost on the way.
  3. You can't be sure it's yoursLabels, mix-ups and handoffs you never see.
  4. The camp is the storyA photo, a banner, a headcount. Then it's over.

"is this even my report?"

The Sutram way

  1. One drop, right in front of youA finger prick, tested on the spot. Nothing leaves your sight.
  2. A report in minutesPrinted and in your hand, and on your family's WhatsApp, before you leave.
  3. No tampering, no doubtYou watch the whole process. The result is unmistakably yours.
  4. The person is the storyFlags lead to a doctor, and every visit adds to their history.

"I saw it happen."

What we stand for

Four promises we don't bend on.

Transparent by default

Every test runs in front of the person being tested. If you can't see it, we shouldn't be doing it.

Decentralised

The lab goes to people, not the other way around. A school ground, a canteen or a panchayat hall is enough.

People before the campaign

A camp isn't a photo op. Success is the person who walks away understanding their health, and comes back better.

Fast, then continuous

Results in minutes, follow-up the same day, and a record that grows with every visit.

Clinical-grade, not "good enough"

Every device we use in the field carries regulatory approval, so a test at a village camp is held to the same standard as one in a city lab.

US FDAapproved devices
CEmarked devices
CDSCOapproved devices

The change we're working for

One drop can move a nation.

We want the most transparent, decentralised health screening in the country, reaching the very last Indian mile. And every drop we test makes a difference at three levels.

  1. The personKnows their numbers today, sees a doctor if they need one, and builds a health history over the years.
  2. The communitySchools, employers and NGOs see who needs help and whether follow-up is working, camp after camp.
  3. The countryFresh, ground-level data on health markers, updated as fast as camps happen, for decisions built on what's actually true on the ground.

From screening to understanding

A live picture of India's health, from the ground up.

National health data is often years old by the time anyone acts on it. Each Sutram camp adds fresh readings, so the picture keeps up with reality: anaemia in one district, rising blood sugar in another, malaria after the rains.

  • LawmakersPlan programmes around what's happening now, not what was true years ago.
  • ResearchersStudy health markers at a speed and spread that surveys can't match.
  • OrganisationsPut CSR and public-health money where the need actually is.

People first, always. Insights are shared only as anonymised, aggregated data. No one's personal report ever leaves their hands without their consent.

Built in India, for every last mile of it.

We started in Maharashtra and we're just getting going. If you run a school, a workplace or a village programme anywhere in India, let's bring the camp to your people.
